This document outlines the official policies and terms of Tarteel School. These policies and terms apply to all students and members of our school community. We ask that you read and fully understand these guidelines, as they are essential for maintaining a safe and productive educational environment.

Food:
- Only water is permitted in the classroom; no juice, sugary snacks, chocolate, chips, gum, hard candy, or soda.
- Healthy food options like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy are allowed.
- Beverages must be stored in auto-sealed containers or containers that prevent spills.
- Each child should have their own labeled water bottle.

Food Allergies/Sensitivities:
- Parents must indicate any allergies or sensitivities on medical forms during enrollment.
- Ensure teachers are informed about your child's specific allergies or sensitivities regarding food, drinks, or other substances.

Medical Conditions:
- Parents are required to inform the school of any health conditions their child has.
- Please note that our staff is not trained to handle severe illnesses.
- The school and its staff are not responsible for any health-related issues.

Water Consumption:
- Drinking water is encouraged throughout the day.
- Staff will remind students, especially during hot weather, to stay hydrated.
- Water is available during mealtimes, and water fountains are accessible.

Children's Safety:
- Socks must be worn at all times.
- Children are not allowed to bring sharp objects such as pencils, scissors, or toys to school.

Children's Privacy:
- Taking pictures or videos of children is strictly prohibited.
- If parents wish to photograph their child, it should be done exclusively for their child and not include other children.
- School-initiated photography of children requires prior parental consent.

Absences and Illness:
- The school cannot deduct absences caused by vacations, colds, or illnesses.
- Do not send your child to school if they exhibit symptoms such as watery eyes, pink eyes, cough, fever, rash, contagious diseases, or head lice.
- Notify the school of your child's absence and ensure they remain home for 24 hours after a fever subsides.
- Sick children arriving at school will be sent home immediately or later if their condition worsens.

Accident and Emergency Procedure:
- Any emergency injury or illness during school hours will result in immediate parental contact using the provided emergency contact information.
- Parents are responsible for ensuring that the school has updated emergency forms and phone numbers.
- The school is not responsible for accidents or injuries occurring on the school premises.

Toilet Training:
- Students must be toilet trained and independent in personal hygiene.

Arrival/Drop Off:
- Children should be dropped off 10 minutes before their scheduled class time.
- Please do not drop off your child earlier than 10 minutes before the class start time.

Departure:
- Parents are expected to pick up their children promptly after class.
- Late arrivals may incur charges, as detailed in the policy.

Sign In and Out:
- Parents should accompany their child into the building and sign in.
- Signing out is required at the end of each class.
- Written notice or email confirmation from the parent is necessary if someone other than the parent is picking up the child.

Tuition and Payment:
- Monthly tuition is due three months in advance.
- Non-refundable Registration, Supplies, and Books fees are due in advance.
- All tuition, supplies, books, and fees are nonrefundable.
- Sibling discounts apply only to the 2nd enrolled child.
- Tuition assistance is available for low-income families based on evaluation.

Tuition Payment Examples:

- Registration, supplies, and the first month's tuition in September are due during open enrollment in April.
- Tuition for October, November, and December is due on the first day of school in September.
- Tuition for January, February, and March is due on December 1st.
- Tuition for April, May, and June is due on March 1st.

Withdrawal Policy:
- Parents who plan to withdraw their child must submit their request in writing by email to [email protected] and CC [email protected].
- The official date of withdrawal is the date the request is acknowledged, in writing, by the school administration email.
- The withdrawal fee on or after August 1st is the equivalent of three months' tuition, which remains due regardless of withdrawal.
- If written notice of withdrawal is submitted prior to August 1st, there is no withdrawal penalty for early withdrawal before the end of the school academic year.
- However, the tuition, registration, and supplies/fees will not be refunded.

Field Trips:
- Parents are responsible for transporting and supervising their children during field trips.
- Siblings may join, but supervision is the responsibility of their parents.

Toys:
- Children are discouraged from bringing toys from home, except on designated sharing days.

Character and Advertising Policy:
- Children should not wear or bring items that advertise cartoons, characters, products, or companies.

Mandatory Reporting:
- Tarteel School is mandated to report suspected child abuse or neglect as per Washington state law.

Volunteering:
- Volunteers must undergo a background check before assisting in the school.

Snow Days:
- School may be canceled on snow days due to transportation challenges. Parents will be notified via email.

Signature:
By signing this statement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with Tarteel School policies. You also release the school from any liability related to your child's health, injuries, or other issues during their time at the school.
